Is this really Christmas Eve?

So Christmas Eve arrived and I was still down and out. Emma had been sick Monday night and Tuesday morning. Dana's girls weren't feeling great. So the decision was made to cancel our Christmas Eve celebration. Dana, Amy & I have spent every Christmas Eve together since 10th grade, that would be 1989!! 2001 was the exception and we will all tell you that it was just wrong. We belong together on Christmas Eve. It has been so wonderful to share those nights with my two best friends and their moms and our siblings. As we have gotten older the celebrations included the boyfriends who eventually became our husbands. And now all three of us have beautiful daughters who are along for the ride. We certainly are very blessed to have remained friends and become family. So this year it was, as if, Christmas hadn't really come. But it was for the best. I certainly was in no shape to socialize, I spent 90% of the day asleep. I was awake long enough to get the girls ready to visit Santa in the afternoon(Thanks Grama). And then again later in the evening to watch them open their new Christmas pj's and prepare for Santa's arrival. The girls wrote Santa a note and left him some milk and cookies.
